Diving into a vibrant Caribbean childhood, Virginie Lentulus was born and raised in Guadeloupe, surrounded by the warm sounds of the sea and the discipline of classical ballet—a passion she pursued for fifteen years with the secret dream of joining Alvin Ailey in New York, until a knee injury sent her on a new path.

Of Franco-Cuban and Indian heritage, her statuesque frame was discovered in 2007 by the founders of Elite, launching Virginie onto the runways of Paris, New York, Milan, Cape Town, and London. Her face graced Vogue, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Dazed, and L’Officiel—and she became a muse for luxury houses such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and Armani—while earning a degree in applied arts and graphic design and, in 2015, completing a Master’s in Digital Communication and Strategy in Paris.

That same year, she whisked her readers away on a stylish world tour: over 200 articles blending fashion, photography, and travel narratives fueled her travel blog—before she gently transitioned into music. A pianist at seven, choral singer as a teen, and writing her first compositions at twenty, she reemerged in 2018 under the name GILONE. Dreamy electro, alternative pop, and experimental textures define her sound; her debut self‑produced EP, Ocean Call, dropped on December 3, 2021, and has since amassed over 90,000 streams across platforms, while her independent YouTube videos captivate audiences without a label.

Since 2022, Virginie has also composed for film (Queen of the Sea, Sex Is Comedy) and created performative soundtracks bridging Paris and New York. As the creative director of her music videos, she orchestrates live performances where dance, music, and video converge around the globe.

Driven by a mission to reshape the contemporary scene by celebrating Black and BIPOC cultures, she’s transformed her former travel diary into a digital platform dedicated to contemporary art. Visual art, video, photography, fashion: www.virginielentulus.com gives voice to marginalized artists, thinkers, and creators.

Stay tuned for GILONE’s next EP, arriving Fall 2025—a new invitation to inner voyage.
