Alpha

I honored the full moon lunar eclipse by creating a personal soundtrack, combined with a free dance performance in Biarritz and New York, contrasting the opposing yet complementary forces between the ocean and the metropolis. ALPHA is an ambient piece I composed in 48 hours, alone at home, just after the dance session.

The eclipse occurred during the daytime in France. I felt deeply vulnerable, yet extremely energized as I brought this trio performance—music, film, and dance—to life on that special day, November 19th, 2021. That’s me.

ALPHA features a range of vocalizations using my own voice, my first natural instrument, rooted in my Afro-Caribbean and Indian heritage. Keys, drums, brass, and cinematic water sounds—elements I deeply connect with—completed the sonic spectrum straight from my heart.

The next morning, I personally edited the film to the beat on my phone. Et voilà. The ALPHA performance was born.

Enjoy. Directed, edited, and composed by me. Created in 48 hours.
